Do I need any software?
A. There are two ways to view your dynamic books: online and downloaded to your computer. To view your dynamic books online you do not need any special software. If you want to view your dynamic book offline you will need to install a small applet called the VitalSource Bookshelf. The bookshelf can be downloaded onto your computer from the DynamicBooks website.
What are the technical requirements for using DynamicBooks?
A. To view DynamicBooks online you will need to have FireFox 3.5 or later or Safari 3.0 or later, or Internet Explorer 6.0 or later. To view DynamicBooks offline, you will need: Apple - Mac OS X: 10.4 or later; Windows - XP SP2 (32bit only), Vista (32 or 64 bit), 7 (32 or 64 bit.) and .Net 3.5SP1.
Can I still read my text even if I'm not online?
A. Yes. If you would like to view your DynamicBooks offline, you will need to install VitalSource Bookshelf.
Will my downloaded version still have all the links active?
A. Most times yes, it depends if your instructor embedded the links or if they are linked out to the site. Embedded links can be viewed in the downloaded format.
How much memory will a typical Dynamic Book use on my computer?
A. A typical textbook of 500 pages will use about 200 megabytes of memory.
What if I forgot my user name or password?
A. No problem. On the sign in page, click the “reset password” link. Enter the email address associated with your DynamicBooks account and select send. You will receive a link to your personal email account. Click on the link to log you into your profile page. (This link can only be used once and will become invalid after 24 hours.) Once you are logged in, you can change your password. Once you’ve made the change, click the “save” button.
How do I find out if I have previously created an account? If so, can I use the same login and password to access any of my DynamicBooks titles?
A. If you have previously signed up for DynamicBooks, you will be alerted once you try to login with your email address.
What do I do if I need technical support?
A. We offer three levels of support. From the website, elect “support” from the home page. Now you can use the “getting started guide” or one of several tutorials or visit our knowledge base for answers to your questions. You can also access 24/7 support at this number 877-771-9368.
Do I need a new account for each book I subscribe to?
A. No. You just need one account to maintain all your DynamicBooks.
How do I start using my own DynamicBooks?
A. Once you sign up for the DynamicBooks, the link your professor will give you will access the book. Or you can find the book in the catalog section of the website by book title, book author or your professor’s name.

What is a dynamic book and how does DynamicBooks work?
A. DynamicBooks is an interactive online textbook that has been customized by the student’s instructor to match his/her syllabus and course material. Instructors can re-arrange chapters, highlight sections, add animation, audio, video, website links plus add their own content such as course notes or equation problems. Students can take notes, highlight, share notes with friends, search text and take online tests or solve equations created by their instructor. Students use their own preferred computing device, such as a laptop or Apple iPhone.
Why is DynamicBooks textbooks so much cheaper than the printed version?
A. By avoiding the printing and distribution process, much of the cost is reduced and the savings are passed to students.
Is the content different in a dynamic book versus the dynamic book you can print at a store?
A. As long as your instructor provides you his/her unique URL address for the digital version or the ISBN for the bound version for the class, the content will be the same. However, if the instructor alters the book during the semester it will be different from the printed version. You will not be able toaccess any Internet-based materials added to the dynamic.
Can I make changes to the actual text?
A. No. Only instructors and authors can alter text. Students can use DynamicBooks tools to add notes highlight text for their personal use. Students can also share notes with classmates and search terms.
Can I print out chapters, problem sets, or notes?
A. Yes, students can print out up to 10 pages at a time.
Do other students or instructors see my dynamic book and the notes and highlights that I have made?
A. Not at all. Your notes and mark ups are private. However, you can contact students in your class using the instructor’s homework application.
Does DynamicBooks include online practice quizzes or online homework assignments within it?
A. It is up to the instructor to decide what teaching tools they will use.
When are more books going to be available?
A. New titles are available all the time. Check back to the DynamicBooks site often.
Are there any additional study guide or supplemental materials available with this book?
A. Your instructor will indicate if other materials are available or required for their class.
How long can I access my book online?
A. As long as the term for the class. It will be confirmed on your email receipt.
What happens to my notes and content at the end of the term?
A. You will be able to keep your downloaded dynamic book that includes your notes and highlights.
Can I print copy of my dynamic book textbook?
A. You can print in 10 page increments.

How long is a term?
A. A term is based on the length of the course and is decided by your instructor.
What is an ISBN or activation code and where do I find it?
A. ISBN (International Standard Book Number) is a unique 10-digit number that identifies books and book-like products. Your instructor will provide you with the link or ISBN. You can also search by your instructor’s name in the catalog section of the DynamicBooks website.
What if I purchase a dynamic book and then later find out my instructor has invited me to use his/her customized version, how do I make that change?
A. The specific dynamic book your instructor assigns will be his/her customized book. Each book uses a unique ISBN. If you signed up for the wrong book, contact our customer support.
What do I do if I am having problems logging in?
A. Call our customer service number and they can help you. Call 877-771-9368.
What credit cards do you accept?
A. We accept major credit cards and cash card transactions.
My payment was declined, can you help?
A. You will need to contact your bank. We do not accept cash or check at this time.
